Tax law
Hardly any other field of law has become as alien to its users as tax law has. Not only because tax legislation has become unmanageable – even unsystematic – with its multitude of laws, administrative instructions, and judgments. Many parts of it are also simply incomprehensible to the citizen due to the many special provisions, exceptions, and retroactive exemptions that apply. We offer you guidance on your way through this complex legal matter and support you not only with in-court and out-of-court litigation, but also with advice, first and foremost, on the adoption of structural measures to prevent such litigation in the first place.
To begin with, our range of services includes particularly the assessment of tax law issues and advice on the tax-optimised structuring of companies, in particular in the case of reorganisations, succession planning and anticipated succession, as well as the purchase and sale of companies. We also assist you in negotiations with the tax authorities to obtain binding information and factual agreements and support you during tax audits. In addition, we provide you with advice on foreign relations (for example on structuring German investments abroad and foreign investments in Germany, customs, turnover and foreign trade law issues) as well as group matters (for example transfer prices, licences), leveraging close cooperation with our tax consultant colleagues in the International Competence Team.
If undesirable tax effects occur, we represent you in out-of-court appeal proceedings and take on your financial and other legal representation in court.
